I worked out that next year’s trip to Butlins is going to be my 50th! I could probably answer any question there is to know about Butlins, and we’ve stayed in every type of accommodation going. Except for the newer, more expensive Lakeside Chalets. Because, why do you need to? When you can get everything you need from a Silver or Comfort Room, or a Standard Room even. That’s not saying I wouldn’t stay in them if someone offered, but the expensive accomodation isn’t something I’d personally choose to pay for. I’d much rather make more memories/do more activities whilst we’re there. Not that they’re expensive either!
There is a full video looking around the Silver Room here so this Butlins Silver Room Review is more of an expansion on that as I’ve had so many questions since posting it on social media.
Butlins Silver Room Size
There’s a lot more room in the Silver Rooms when compared with the Standard accommodation. Although there’s never much of a difference in the price. In our case for this trip, the Silver Room ended up cheaper and we paid just £37 for the week for a family of 4. There is usually more than enough room in both the double and twin rooms for a cot. Plenty of room to walk around and a little hallway instead of walking straight into the rooms.
Are there fridges in a Butlins Silver Room?
As of 2024 most Silver Rooms come with a fridge but this isn’t currently guaranteed. This is a godsend for us with two young children as we always make use of the fridge for sandwiches, snacks, yogurts, drinks (and cold chocolate).
Beds in a Butlins Silver Room
There are either double or twin rooms. Both are smaller than average but a double bed is plenty big enough for my 6 foot fiance and myself, with room for both kids to climb in in the morning. I personally find the beds very comfy and always sleep well in them.
Bathrooms in a Butlins Silver ACCOMMODATION
The showers are pretty small, and it’s a bit of a palaver washing small children in it but it always does the job. A little hack I’ve found is taking a small paddling pool (one of those really small Pound Shop ones) and filling it in the bottom of the shower. Or just washing in the Swimming Pool showers before a swim. I’ve found the water is always hot and water pressure is OK. There are baths in the Standard Accommodation. I’m not sure about the more expensive ones.
How far away from the Skyline are the Butlins Silver Rooms?
It can be anywhere from 2-6 minutes walk. We were lucky enough to stay right opposite the Skyline once but there are the bigger, 3 bedroom accommodation. We’ve never been too far away.
How much is a Butlins Silver Room?
The price depends on when you go and whether it’s a midweek or weekend break. The room in the video tour cost us £37 for a midweek Monday-Friday break for a family of 4. Everything is included within this price, the fairground, toddler fairground, soft play, Skypark, day and evening entertainment – everything. The only thing you need to pay for is food and drink.
Apologies but I don’t have any photos of the accommodation to go alongside the video but I will add some after this year’s visit. I just wanted to answer some of the questions I’m being asked again and again. If you have any other questions please add them to the comments and I’ll answer them here for you. I could honesty talk about Butlins for days!
