Cofton Holidays is somewhere we have visited multiple times now, before and since children. It’s constantly being upgraded and changed so I thought it was time I wrote a full review of the Campsite/Holiday Park and added some photos of our recent trips. I have already mentioned Cofton in my Best Family Friendly Campsites in the South West post but I wanted to add some further information.
Where is Cofton Holidays?
Cofton Holidays is in Dawlish, the address is Starcross, EX68RP. It is soooo easy to get to from Bristol, straight down the M5 and there in less than 1.5 hours. This is why it’s one of our favourites as it’s never fun travelling miles with children.
What Facilities are at Cofton Holidays?
There are indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, splash pad, soft play, multiple play areas, fishing lakes, a treetop adventure course, a pump track, multiple restaurants and takeaways and animals.

What age is Cofton Holidays suitable for?
Cofton Holidays is suitable for all ages. There is plenty to do with very young children and older children and teenagers. Along with plenty of opportunities for adults too. Sam and I used to love coming here before we had children and we love it just as much now.
Is Cofton Holidays Dog Friendly?
It is, there are designated exercise areas for dogs, including a really nice walk through the woodlands to the beach. Some parts of the beach are dog friendly all year round. Make sure you check the signs.

What Food is available at Cofton Holidays?
There are multiple restaurants and takeaways. Amelia’s Cafe upstairs offers light bites, cake and an evening/kids menu. There is the Traditional Swan Pub which is Dog Friendly. There’s also the Cofton Carvery that offers carvery’s, breakfasts and other dishes. Including an all you can eat breakfast! For takeaways there is the Pizza Kitchen and Fish and Chip shop. The fish and chip shop is delicious, and reasonably priced for a campsite takeaway. There is also a fully stocked campsite shop.
Cofton Holidays Pools
There is an indoor pool, outdoor pool and splash pad. The outdoor pool and splash pad are brilliant in the Summer and the highlight of our trip. They really feel like you’re abroad. Especially when the sun shines. The indoor pool is quite small and plain and costs an additional £4 per adult charge to use it. That does however include access to the gym and spa.

Other activities at Cofton Holidays Dawlish
Other activities include a high ropes course, animals to visit and a substantial pump track. The pump track is concrete and brilliant for both scooters and bikes. It was also brilliant for a RC car when there were no children using it. There are play areas dotted about the campsite, perfect for a mixture of ages. There is an arcade but it is cashless and I don’t find these as exciting as the penny machines etc.

How far is it into Dawlish?
You can walk through the woodland into Dawlish, this is just about accessible with a pram. But not with a wheelchair. The hill is fairly steep and it takes around 20 minutes to walk it. That being said it’s a really nice walk, but not that enjoyable whilst carrying a 3 year old… There is a bus into Dawlish (and various other places) from the reception.

Please feel free to ask any other questions in the comments and I will add them here.
