We’ve recently come back from a VERY cheap holiday to Seal Bay Resort and wanted to write a review of the park, accommodation and surroundings. We went out of season at the end of November and booked via Sun Holidays so managed to get the holiday for a grand total of £38! For a Friday – Monday weekend break. The Sun Holiday codes are just being released for 2025 so I thought this Seal Bay Resort Review would come in handy for anyone considering visiting this year. Please feel free to comment with any questions if there is anything I haven’t covered.
Seal Bay Comfort ACCOMMODATION Review
We stayed in the most budget accommodation, the comfort caravan. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 4 and 1 year old children (3 and 0 at the time of visiting). I wasn’t sure what we’d get for £38 for the whole family but I’m very easy to please anyway. We’re use to camping so indoors with a mattress is luxury for us. I was surprised how nice the accommodation at Seal Bay was, it looked new and there was plenty of room for the whole family.
I’d asked reception to move one of the beds to make room for a cot which they did happily. The rooms were big enough, had plenty of wardrobe space and room under the beds for the bigger things like suitcases. One negative was that the mattress was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on – but I really can’t complain for the price we paid.
The shower was massive – huge for a caravan, and there was plenty of room to move about in the bathroom. The kitchen was gorgeous and oven worked really well. There was a full size fridge freezer. I’m so sorry I don’t have better photos. I wasn’t planning on writing this review at the time but I’ve had so many ask about it since so thought anything will be better than nothing.
Seal Bay Fairground
There is a fairground at the site itself that we sadly didn’t get to make use of. There are a few rides for all ages, all a bit tired looking but we did visit in the middle of Winter. Rides are £3 each or you can pay £15 for a wristband for the day. You can come and go as you please with these wristbands – during opening hours of course. We stayed right opposite the fairground and definitely would have made use of this deal if Rupert had been slightly older.
Soft Play at Seal BaY Resort
There are two soft plays at Seal Bay but we could only visit one during our stay as the other site was closed. The one at Waterfront Quays has such a nice view of the sea. Not that children care about the view but I did whilst following them around it. Soft play is £4 per child but there was no-one on the door during our visit so my two went on a couple of times for free. I did ask someone in the arcade but was told not to worry about it.
Food and Drink at Seal Bay Resort
There are various food and drink outlets dotted around the resort. This includes Shore Shack, Millies Cookies, The Embassy Club, Smugglers, Smokey’s Ocean Bar, Papa Johns and Cafe Lido. Along with a couple of Nisa Stores around the site. We didn’t eat in any of the restaurants during our stay as we were on a very tight budget but I cooked meals with food bought at the local Coop which is around a 15 minute walk.
Things To Do Near Seal Bay Resort
We visited over the last weekend of November/first weekend in December and were fortunate to come across the local Christmas Light Switch on in Selsley. I would visit again just for this. I have never seen so much community spirit, and that’s coming from someone bought up in small villages. As a family on a very small budget for this trip, this couldn’t have come at a better time for us. It made me feel the happiest I’d felt in a while. I can’t really explain it.
There is also Butlins Bognor Regis right on its doorstep. I was tempted to book a day pass but I ended up on the holiday on my own so I wouldn’t have been able to make the most of the pool which is one of the main attractions.
Other Attractions at Seal Bay Resort
I know I have missed so much here but as we visited out of season, we didn’t get to enjoy much of it. And as I was on my own I couldn’t take both children swimming. There is a crazy golf course, bowling alley, indoor and outdoor pools, lido, gym, VR centre and even a wave rider. I’m writing these things and already planning our next visit in my head. The arcade was like nothing we’d ever seen before, usually you have a few machines, even at the bigger resorts but this was second to none.
