Mamas and Papas Ocarro Review

January 12, 2025May 8, 2025 ami 5 comments

I’m writing this review after using the Mamas and Papas Ocarro every day for over 4 years. I have no idea why I’ve not written this before but at least it’s going to give you a comprehensive user review! Before I had my first son, I read everything I possibly could about prams and recommendations. The Ocarro always came up trumps (it was between this and the Bugaboo Fox for me). When I went to view them in person the Mamas and Papas Ocarro came out on top. And as the years have gone by, I haven’t regretted my decision once.

Does the Ocarro fold in one piece?

One of the main “wants” for a pram was that you didn’t need to take it apart to fold it. It folds in one, with the pram attachment and footmuff, it even folds in one with a toy attached around the bumper bar. I love that I don’t need to take anything off of it to fold and unfold.

Which Footmuffs fit the Ocarro?

I have a gorgeous limited edition dinosaur one which I scoured the internet to find but there are lots of lovely colours and designs available. A universal footmuff will fit too.

Which Buggy Board fits the Mamas and Papas Ocarro?

The Lascal and Lascal Mini Buggy Boards fit the Ocarro. We bought ours second hand from Marketplace.

What colours does the Ocarro come in?

It comes in many colours, we went for the signature grey as wanted to have it for any future babies and thought grey was quite unisex. It’s quilted and looks lovely. I love the colour Oasis too which is a Sage Green colour.

Does the Mamas and Papas Ocarro work off-road?

It does, it’s an all terrain pushchair and works both on and off road. I wouldn’t like to add up the miles I’ve done with this pram – let’s just say I’m on my second set of wheels because I’ve worn a set out. I walk everywhere, probably around 30km a week on average. I walk around woods, commons, parks, shops, you name it.

How big is the basket on the Ocarro?

When looking at them in person it was one of the biggest, I can fit a weeks food shop in the bottom if I’m technical with it.

Does the Ocarro work with one handed fold?

It does but it’s quite tricky for me. I do it if I have to but I prefer to get the pram out, set it up and then get baby out of the car seat/carrier. I find the clip on the side needs one hand to release and then the other to unfold the pram. It is very easy to fold and lift into the boot but can be quite heavy if you’re carrying baby in the other arm.

other notes on the Mamas and Papas Ocarro

The Ocarro parent and world faces and it’s really easy to switch. This pram has lasted us 4 years and the chassis it’s still brilliant. I would, and do, recommend this pram to any new parents/parents to be.

If you have any other questions about the Ocarro and want to ask someone who’s been using it daily for 4 years, please ask them before and I’ll add them to the post.

Thanks for writing this I’m torn between bugaboo and ocarro and a first time expecting mum. All the reviews are good but say it’s too heavy , is it actually too heavy or manageable?

No problem at all. It is heavy because it’s all in one, but not crazy heavy and I’m much rather it be slightly heavier, then have to take it apart every time I want to put it in the boot. My friend went for the Fox and wished she didn’t because of this. I use the Ocarro daily and it’s always manageable x

Do both back wheels lock when you have the brake on? We have just bought this but noticed only the left wheel is ‘locked in’ and the right wheel still moves. Not sure if this is normal or not?
    Thanks!

Hey, I’m pretty sure both lock in on our one but I’ll double check tomorrow, it doesn’t move at all when the brake is on. Have you managed to sort it?

What a helpful and thorough review of the Mamas and Papas Ocarro! I love how you’ve shared your real-life experience with it, especially after using it daily for over 4 years. The practicality of it folding in one piece and working on various terrains makes it so appealing. Plus, the large basket and the ease of switching between parent and world-facing positions are fantastic features. It’s also great to see the color options and how well it holds up after all that use! For anyone thinking about prams, definitely check this one out.
