Today’s park is one I spent a lot of time in when I was little. My Grandma’s lives close to the park and we used to walk here in the morning after a sleepover at hers. We hadn’t been in years but it was exactly as I remembered it – but with a couple of new bits of equipment added or updated. It’s due to be updated after receiving funding from the Lottery Fund. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with it.
There’s a little roundabout with seats, a tyre swing, toddler and bigger climbing frames, swings and so much more. What makes Kingswood Park stand out to us is the huge area to practice bikes/scooters. This was the first time Arthur had ridden his bike for more than 30 seconds and he was whizzing around by the end of our visit.
There’s a great bit of green space and gardens surrounding the park, a great place for a dog walk or just a catch up with a friend. Accessibility is limited so be aware if you’re a wheelchair user or have limited mobility. I had to carry the pram down a few steps which would have been awkward if I didn’t have Sam with me.
