Elm Park Filton

As part of our 52 Parks in 52 Weeks Challenge we visited Elm Park Filton. This was a new one to me, or so I thought – apparently we used to go when I was younger. I’d arranged to go shopping at The Mall Cribbs Causeway in the afternoon so wanted to find somewhere Arthur could run off steam beforehand.

Elm Park is easy to find just behind Filton Leisure Centre with easy access and parking. There are lots of different pieces of equipment including swings, various climbing frames for different ages, a roundabout, “springy things” which I now know as Spring Riders thanks to one of my Instagram followers and other equipment dotted around the park. Arthur thoroughly enjoyed the climbing net as he struggles with the larger versions of these. He was so proud of himself that he’d managed to climb to the top!

The play area is fenced off and the equipment is seemed mostly clean and well looked after. There were some bits in need of a paint/update but it was Winter when we visited. I’ve found this sort of thing is done towards the Summer. There was a café and various other facilities nearby which I have mentioned in more detail below.

We’ve been enjoying finding new parks as park of this challenge, I will be adding them all to the “Parks and Play Areas” category which is linked here. Although I have no idea how we’re going to fit 52 of them into the year!

Yes, the toilets are situated inside the adjoining “Active Nation Filton”. Disabled toilets and baby changing are available.

What other facilities are nearby?

The Leisure Centre has a newly opened Swimming Pool, a gym, café and soft play which we can’t wait to try out. If anyone is local to the area and has recomendations for other cafes/places to eat nearby then I’d be happy to add them.
