Grimsbury Farm Bristol is a free to visit community farm located in Kingswood, Bristol. The farm is owned and run by South Gloucestershire Council with the support of volunteers and has been running for as long as I can remember. My Grandma lives walking distance and I’ve been coming here since. I was a child. There are many different animals – pigs, sheep, goats, rabbits, birds, horses, chickens, ducks and more. As well as a large play area, cafe serving hot and cold food and a food kiosk in the play area.
You are able to get involved and feed the sheep and goats by hand with the purchase of animal feed for £1 a bucket. There is also duck and chicken feed available also at £1 a bucket. You can also make donations to support the farm at the Kiosk whilst purchasing your animal feed. There are sometimes extra handling and feeding opportunities depending on when you visit the farm.
Opening Times of Grimsbury Farm Bristol?
Grimsbury Farm is fully open Tuesday – Sunday with term time Mondays allowing access to just the cafe and play area. Bank Holiday Mondays and School Holidays the entire farm is open as usual. Opening times are 1st April – 31st October 9am-5pm and 1st November – 31st March 9am – 4pm.
Play AREA AT GRIMSBURY FARM
There is a large, free to use play area at the farm. The play area includes multiple slides, a climbing frame, play tractor, rope swing, see-saw and spring loaders. You can view some more photos here.
Is there car parking for Grimsbury Farm?
There is plenty of free car parking on site. On busier days you may have to park on the road and you are encouraged to arrive on foot where possible.
Grimsbury Farm Bristol Cafe
There are two food outlets at Grimsbury Farm, the main cafe and the Kiosk in the Play Area. The main cafe is ran by The Brandon Trust and serves hot and cold food, drinks and snacks. Meals such as jacket potatoes with a selection of toppings or sandwiches with a choice of fillings are available. Along with a kids pick ‘n’ mix style cold lunchbox. There are a selection of teas, coffees and cold drinks.
The Kiosk in the play area serves hot drinks and snacks such as pasties and sausage rolls as well as cold snacks including crisps, biscuits and sweets. They also have a selection of ice cream and ice lollies available.
If you would like to bring your own food to Grimsbury Farm there are two dedicated picnic areas on site.
Birthday Parties at Grimsbury Farm
Grimsbury Farm Bristol allow Birthday Parties at the farm, as well as visits from local schools, playgroups and childminders. There is a suggested donation of £1 per child for this and should be arranged via email to grimsbury.farm@southglos.gov.uk.
For the safety of the animals Grimsbury Farm do not allow dogs on site.
