Emersons Green Park

April 11, 2024April 11, 2024 ami 2 comments

Emersons Green Park is park 5 of 52 of our year of parks and one we’ve been to a few times now. There is a main play area and a separate toddler play area. Both fenced off individually. It’s bittersweet each time we go because the toddler area is slowly getting too little for Arthur each time he goes, and he can do more in the main play area. But I’m looking forward to Rupert being able to enjoy it – without wishing a single day away.

The toddler area has a climbing frame, swings, slide – or two slides, a roundabout and spring riders. It’s whole enclosed toddler area is tarmacked/has the usual rubber style floor. I promise I will learn the name for all of these things by the end of my park challenge! This means that it stays nice and clean and doesn’t get muddy like the grassy parks. This is a great one if you don’t want to be hauling a very muddy toddler back into your car.

The main play area on the other hand is quite muddy at the moment. Arthur went running towards a piece of equipment and slid right on his bum! This area has a climbing frame with a fab rope tunnel that Arthur enjoyed going back and forth through, swings, a really tall slide – again, Arthur loved this one, a spiderweb climbing frame and a zip wire. All children seem to love a zip wire!

Parking for Emersons Green Park

I’m unsure if there’s a dedicated car park for the play area but there is parking at Emersons Green Retail Centre and we often park opposite the Busy Bees Nursery.

Is there a cafe or other facilities nearby?

There are multiple cafes/venues around the park including a Costa Coffee, Sainsbury’s Cafe, Avenue Cafe and Wacky Warehouse Pub. I’ll never say no to tea and cake after a play in the park.

Where is emersons Green Play Area?

The play area is behind Sainsburys at the postcode BS167AL although there are various entrances to the park and surrounding gardens.

Are Dogs Allowed in Emersons Green Park?

Dogs are allowed in the park itself but not the fenced off play areas.
