I can’t believe we’ve managed to get 2 months into our house renovation without me mentioning anything on my website. Or without me posting a single post on my website for that matter… Reno life has very much taken over. It’s hard work, tiring and expensive, but we are loving every moment of making this house into our forever home.
As we’re getting further into the renovation we’re having so many questions about the paint colours we’ve chosen for our home. I genuinely can’t believe that in 2 months, we have almost 30,000 of you following along in this crazyyy journey. I’ll keep this post brief, and please continue to leave comments asking questions on various posts if there’s anything you’d like to know as I really do love talking to you.
Because our house is over 150 years old with solid stone walls we need to use a more breathable paint. We decided on Earthborn Clay Paint very earn on and have been so fortunate that the Earthborn paints mentioned in this post have been kindly gifted by them. I really hope we can do their paints justice whilst renovating our home.
Rupert’s Paint Colours (Green)
Rupert (our 2 year old) wanted green in his room and picked the brand new Earthborn Little Sprout for the panelling.
The tops of the walls are Earthborn Feather Pillow. We painted straight on to old lime plaster with this and the coverage was great. We did two coats to get a full coverage.
The Satin on the door frames and windowsills is Leyland Satinwood.
The white ceilings are Leyland Contract Matt Brilliant White. The coverage on this was brilliant.

Arthur’s Paint Colours (Blue)
Arthur wanted his new room to match his current bedroom as he’s very reluctant to leave. He chose Earthborn Balloon Ride. We went to our local Brewer’s Decorator Centre to have a look at swatches.
The tops of the walls are Feather Pillow.
The door frames and windowsills are Leyland Satinwood.
Ceilings and coving are Leyland Contract Matt Brilliant White.

Living Room Paint Colours
We’ve painted the entire wall in Earthborn Feather Pillow and we’re planning to do beaded panelling at a later date.
Ceilings are Leyland Contract Matt Brilliant White. We plan to add coving once we’ve moved in – we’ve just been desperate to get it finished.
The windowsill and door frames are Leyland Satinwood. We’re going to get a cushion made for the windowsill and make it into a window seat at a later date.
The colour on the brickwork/cement on the fireplace is a homemade lime wash, we will remove the cement and repoint with a lime mortar at a later date.

The next rooms we’ll be working on are our bedroom and the bathroom so keep your eyes peeled to see which colours we’ve picked for these. If there are any particular parts of the renovation you’d like more detail on then please do let me know. I’d be happy to make some more detailed posts on different aspects.
